After over a year of waiting for the right time to take on the project, we decided to remove the center wall in the kitchen, opening up the room, providing more light, and making the kitchen a little more usable. It took a few days to remove the wall carefully as well as contend with the surprise of the vent stack right in the middle of the wall.
